Victor Barragán was born in Mexico City in 1992 and moved to New York City in 2014 to pursue his dreams of becoming a fashion designer. After studying industrial design at the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico (UNAM) in Mexico City, he decided to start the fashion label YtinifninfinitY in 2010. The brand was an exploration of Tumblr and Internet Culture, and quickly gained a cult following amongst the millennial net community.
Limited to working with graphic tee shirts and some outerwear, the brand quickly felt confining and in order to expand his fashion vocabulary Victor started BARRAGÁN in 2014. BARRAGÁN is an experimental underground fashion label which plays with gender and identity politics through clothing, questioning our modern-day consumption of fashion, media, and pop culture. Victor currently resides in New York City, where he hopes to set up a permanent place for BARRAGÁN in the New York Fashion community. With BARRAGÁN he will continue to push boundaries, calling into question our contemporary modes of dress, consumption and living.
