Reese Cooper is an American designer and founder of his eponymous label that, in the span of 3 years, has been awarded the runner up prize in the 2019 CFDA Vogue Fashion Fund and has been profiled in outlets including Vogue, The LA Times, Esquire, HERO, Hypebeast, High Snobiety, and WWD.Born in the States and raised primarily in London, Cooper now lives in Los Angeles and works directly in the factory that develops and produces his line, where he is able to experiment and push the boundaries of garment creation and construction. A signature aesthetic that embodies a sense of Americana and nostalgic vintage design, his brand serves as both a collection and an outlet for storytelling, with each season unravelling “chapters” in an ongoing storyline that combines personal experiences, musings, metaphors, and fantasy. His first full collection debuted at Paris Fashion Week in January 2018 where he was able to secure orders from Selfridges, SSense and an array of boutique men’s stores around the globe. Within a year he created exclusive lines for Barney’s New York, Mr. Porter and Harrods. Cooper aspires to take the brand to the next level over the next 12 to 18 months and wants to demonstrate to others that a traditional path of formal education or training is not a prerequisite for success in this industry. Cooper’s motto was humbly summed up on his SS20 NYFW crew t-shirt, “we’re not particularly talented, we just try hard.
