GEORGIE’S REVIEW: MRZ SS21

Thu 24 Sep 11:41 am

A relatively new brand on the scene (under 5 years old,) MRZ has been elevating season after season, with this SS21 collection cementing the brand as your Milanese brand to watch.

Simona Marziali, the creative director and founder of MRZ, ushered in a smooth, linear collection this season with a focus on form and flow. For the majority, long-line dresses and skirts landed to the knee with a languid silhouette that would undoubtedly complement all body shapes.

These pieces looked invitingly comfortable too, in keeping with what a customer in lockdown is looking for. Pieces such as the deep-V dresses, smocked shirting and the satin tunic can easily be dressed up or down, making this a seemingly ideal capsule wardrobe. Just two or three pieces would create an interchangeable classic set.

Knitwear, as expected, was strong and still surprisingly summery and light. The layer-able mini-tops were particularly noteworthy. The mesh trousers and jackets were not quite as alluring as the plissé trousers, cross-body jumpers and pink co-ord suit, but the collection undulated in harmony nonetheless.
